Maha Kumbh 2025: Devotees continue to come to Maha Kumbh, Chief Secretary and DGP to meet today in stampede case

Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar and DGP Prashant Kumar will visit Mahakumbh Nagar on Thursday on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in connection with the stampede on the Sangam shore before Mauni Amavasya bathing. Both the officers will arrive at the DPS ground by helicopter. From there, they will go to the Sangam shore by car. After this, he will also hold an important meeting with the senior officials in the auditorium of the Mela Authority.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions in this regard. “Be it Mahakumbh Mela area or roads outside Prayagraj, traffic should not stop anywhere. It is the responsibility of the government to take every devotee to their destination. There was not much crowd at the stations and outside. Buses and trains are running as fast as possible. Increase patrolling on every route coming towards Prayagraj. Adequate arrangements for food and drinking water should be made in the containment zones.

The Chief Minister has also deputed former Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj Ashish Goyal and District Magistrate and PDA Vice-Chairman Bhanuchandra Goswami to further improve the arrangements at the Mahakumbh. Besides, five special secretaries have also been appointed. All of them will stay in Prayagraj till February 12.
